“If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough.” ~ Meister Eckhart
This is the last post of 2013. A year gone by. I can write about what went right and wrong, but chodo yaar yeh sab funde, will do something slightly more important. 🙂
I shall offer gratitude for all that has happened this year. Not to worry, I will neither bore you nor make you cry.
So here goes.
The overwhelming beauty of the world. Which hits me occasionally and pulls me out of my continuous thoughts. The brilliant morning sunlight on the fluttering tree leaves. The cat dozing in the warm afternoon sun. The soft wind on my face and moist earth fragrance when it is just about to drizzle.
Technology. I might not be comfortable with all that it has brought, but there is no denying – it has transformed our lives. I would not be writing this and you wouldn’t be reading this.
Books. My true Gurus.
Friends and family.
All those I have met in the journey. Whether positive or negative. You have shaped me. (Though I am not yet ready to admit for the negative ones. :P)
Including the dhobi who took my red t-shirt for washing and ironing, and returned a pink one with a hole. When I asked him what was this, he smiled benevolently as if he had granted me a boon.
You, my readers. You bother reading my stuff even when you know that all I do is work, sleep and read; and hurry along with goats. 🙂
The ability to breathe and talk, and walk and run.
The realization that I already am blessed a lot.
The occasional insight that what truly matters is just the here and now.
And finally, the realization that no matter however much effort I make (including drinking a litre of milk a day), I shall never put on healthy weight.
Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2014. Hope you too have a lot to thank for in 2013. 🙂
P.S. The dhobi part didn’t happen. I made it up. Also the weight part. I actually did gain a few kgs in the last couple of years. 🙂

2013 will soon be 2014 and sure to celebrate life and feel the gentle breeze/gusts too at times with thunder/lightning and the crooning birds, the taste of favourite foods and at times new gourmet find, and as you saunter just sing along, Its a Wonderful World… With you a Happy, Healthy, Rewarding 2014 priti

Kiran – I always you knew you had sharp eyes. 😀 You are partially right though. There were 2 more, I am not able to locate the 3rd one. No idea how so many cats ended up near the transformer. 🙂
